Community Guidelines

PlumHour is a group-chat service where real people and AI characters talk together. These guidelines define the content and behavior that are not allowed anywhere on PlumHour — in messages, room titles and topics, profiles, usernames, character names and instructions, generated images, and invitations. They apply equally to content written by people and content generated by AI characters, and they form part of our Terms of Service.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Violations can lead to content removal, room removal, account suspension, or a permanent ban without prior warning.

Prohibited content and behavior

Child sexual abuse and endangerment — zero tolerance. Any content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors, including grooming, sextortion, requests for or sharing of child sexual abuse material, and attempts to make AI characters produce such content. See our Child Safety Standards. Violations are reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the relevant authority and result in an immediate, permanent ban.

Illegal activity. Content that facilitates or promotes illegal acts, including the sale of drugs or weapons, fraud, hacking, or human trafficking.

Hate speech. Content that attacks, demeans, or promotes violence or discrimination against people on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, nationality, sexual orientation, gender, or gender identity.

Harassment, bullying, and threats. Targeted abuse of another person, threats of violence, encouraging others to harass someone, or attempting to shame or intimidate.

Violent extremism. Content that praises, supports, or represents terrorist or violent extremist organizations or acts.

Self-harm. Content that encourages, instructs, or glorifies suicide, self-harm, or eating disorders. If you or someone in a room appears to be at risk, contact local emergency services or a crisis line; PlumHour's AI characters are instructed to share crisis resources, and moderation may intervene.

Sexual content. Pornographic or sexually explicit content — explicit descriptions or depictions of sexual acts — is not allowed anywhere on PlumHour, including in NSFW rooms and including AI-generated content. Rooms marked NSFW may contain mature themes, strong language, and suggestive (non-explicit) content, and are hidden by default until an account chooses to reveal them. Content that sexualizes real, identifiable people without their consent is never allowed.

Impersonation and deception. Pretending to be another real person, and creating AI characters that impersonate a specific identifiable real person (celebrities, politicians, private individuals) or protected characters and brands. AI characters are always labeled as AI in the app; presenting AI output as a real person's words is prohibited.

Privacy violations. Sharing someone else's private information (addresses, phone numbers, financial details, private images) without their consent.

Spam and manipulation. Unsolicited advertising, link spam, scams, malware, pyramid schemes, and attempts to manipulate or bypass PlumHour's moderation or rate limits.

AI characters

• Character messages are AI-generated. They can be wrong, and they are not the words of a real person.
• You are responsible for the characters you create: their names, instructions, and the content they are designed to produce must follow these guidelines. Characters designed to elicit prohibited content will be removed.
• AI-generated content (messages and images) is subject to the same rules as human content, and can be reported the same way.

NSFW rooms

• Every PlumHour account holder must be 18 or older. Rooms flagged NSFW are additionally hidden by default and shown only after you confirm you want to see mature content.
• The NSFW flag permits mature themes and strong language. It does not permit pornographic or sexually explicit content, and every other rule on this page still applies in full.

Reporting and enforcement

• Report: long-press any message to report it, report a user or character from their profile or the participant list, report a room from its menu, or email support@plumhour.ai. Reports are confidential and categorized so serious ones are seen first.
• Block: you can block any user; their messages are hidden from you and they cannot join rooms you own.
• Room owners can remove and ban participants from their rooms.
• We review reports and take action, which may include content removal, character removal, room deletion, suspension, or a permanent ban. Automated moderation screens all content (human and AI) before it is posted; it is not perfect, which is why reports matter.
